Wiki Spaces

Conceptual Information:

A WikiSpace is an online collaborative communication center which is made accessible to anyone who signs up. This technological tool allows teachers to post text, files, and images that aid in the educational process of digital aged students. The initial purpose of the WikiSpace is to encourage the free exchange of different ideas that will enhance the topic and/or environment. 

Hands-On Presentation:

1. Create your own WikiSpace account then create a new wiki
2. Customize your Wiki account and your new wiki page (i.e. edit the home page, add new pages, add a something to your discussion board) 
3. Join another Wiki 

Resources for Future Learning:

1. What is a WikiSpace- This link will provide information regarding the amenities a WikiSpace has to offer. It will also allow first time users to sign up for their own account
2. WikiSpace for Educators- This link will allow you to sign up for a free WikiSpace, find answers to frequently asked questions, and read what other teachers think of the program

     3. Educational Tutorial- This tutorial will provide a better understanding of the program and how it can be used
